The headline story in this early-season model isn't who's number one — it's how far ahead the top two running backs are from everyone else. McCaffrey and Robinson sit north of 199 VOR, while the WR1 (Chase) checks in at 160. That roughly 40-point gap is a full tier of separation, and it explains why RB-heavy starts at the top of a draft board keep resurfacing even in receiver-friendly PPR formats.
The quarterback board tells a different kind of story. Allen's 141.6 VOR dwarfs Hurts at 84.4, and then the format falls off a cliff — Mahomes, Mayfield and Lawrence are bunched within 1.4 points of each other in the mid-50s. That bunching signals a shallow QB advantage overall this cycle: once you're past the two rushing quarterbacks, the position is largely replaceable, which is exactly what VOR is designed to expose.
Tight end shows the sharpest single-player cliff on the board. McBride's 116.1 VOR nearly doubles Bowers' 62.5, making him effectively his own tier. With such a small sample of weekly data available this early, it's worth remembering these are early-season model outputs — real usage patterns will sharpen or soften these gaps as camp reports and preseason snaps roll in.
