NFL Fantasy Start/Sit — Week 3 Sunday slate (2026)
Our start/sit read for Week 3 (Sunday slate, 2026 season). The ordering comes from a simple, transparent score: per-game draft projection, weighted by actual fantasy points over recent weeks, plus an opponent-strength factor (defensive efficiency, or Elo where EPA is not yet available).

Two games of data is a thin base for any weighting model. A single boom or bust week can swing a 'recent form' average by double digits, so the score this week leans more heavily on preseason draft projection than it will by Week 6 or 7 — worth remembering before you overreact to one huge or one quiet outing.
Opponent-strength inputs are just as unsettled. Defensive efficiency numbers and Elo ratings are still calibrating on small samples themselves, so a defense that looks generous or stingy right now may simply have faced an unrepresentative pair of offenses so far. Treat the matchup factor as a soft nudge, not a hard read, until the numbers stabilize around midseason.
One thing the score doesn't separate out: usage type. A player who is seeing a rising target share in the passing game tends to be a more stable weekly asset than one riding a similarly rising snap count that's mostly run-blocking or checkdown work — the raw fantasy-points weighting can't tell those two paths apart yet, so it's worth a manual look at the player profile before locking in a lineup.
